About MSBSVET Board
The Maharashtra government founded the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education Examination (MSBTEE) in 1956, operating under the Directorate of Technical Education.
As technical and vocational education experienced rapid expansion, the Government of Maharashtra responded by dividing the Directorate of Technical Education and forming the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training in 1986. Following this restructuring, the Maharashtra State Technical Education Examination Board (MSBTEE) underwent a similar bifurcation, leading to the establishment of the Maharashtra State Vocational Education Examination Board (MSBVEE) through a Government of Maharashtra Resolution dated January 23, 1986
The Maharashtra State Vocational Education Examination Board (MSBVEE) has been rebranded and officially established as the Maharashtra State Board of Skill, Vocational Education, and Training. Its mandate now encompasses the regulation of skill development, vocational education, training, and entrepreneurship education in alignment with the National Skill Qualification Framework and other relevant skills courses within Maharashtra. This transition was formalized through the Maharashtra State Board of Skill, Vocational Education, and Training Act, 2021 (Mah. Act No. IX of 2022), which was enacted on January 20, 2022, and came into effect on January 26, 2022.
